The socio-political studies institute BILBAN (Knowledge Bank), was founded in 1992 by the initiative of Alpay Durduran. This organization has been registered as an non-profit making institution aiming to contribute to the prevalence of freedom, democracy, socialism and European values.

main goals

The main goals that BILBAN has set to promote are:
• Organization, promotion support of activities relevant to the research and study of social, political, and economic trends, phenomena, and problems.
• Education and training in relevant subjects for personnel involved in social political and professional organizations as well as other independent groups,
• Assembling, functioning and development of political and social groups working in favour of the public and the social economy, the environment and civilization in Cyprus and globally.

Targets

In fulfilment of its goals BILBAN directs its activities towards the following targets:
Assembling seminars, conferences, training workshops, lectures and other relevant activities,
Publishing, translating, printing, distributing, promoting, selling, importing, and exporting books, magazines, printed matter and all kinds of audiovisual media and objects relevant in character and content to its goals,
Promote and assist the co-operation and the co-ordination among Organizations for the assembling of international and local programmes relevant to the education, proficiency, training and debate and exchange of ideas pertinent to its goals,
Assign and undertake studies, provide information and implement programmes relevant to its goals,
Create relations, conducts and cooperation with other institutions, centres, committees, and research groups for the support and implementation of its programmes.
